Free Re-Map Software

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does anyone know of any free re-map software out there? My mate is looking to get a bit more power out of his 1.4 TDI polo.

cheers.

No such thing as a free lunch.

At the very least he'd have to purchase a cable and then pirate some expensive and very complex software.

Best left to the professionals unless you're prepared to spend a very large amount of time in researching and knowing what you're doing.

yeah, its very easy to fry one if not all of your engines ECU's if you don't know completley what your doing!

Agree with Softscoop here, i'd really leave the remap to someone who knows what they're doing and steer clear of remap files you may "Acquire" on the internet , if you get it wrong you could be running up a massive bill with any damage you could cause.

As ^^^^ and why re- map a 1-4 tdi ? , no point just get a bigger engine ;)

There's loads of free software out there, that's why people who know what they're doing charge a reasonable fee for doing so.

The 1.4TDI is worth doing. Our price for that engine is £299 including VAT.

There you go someone ready to take £299 off you for the remapping of a 1.4 tdi ;)

I will put him in contact with you Shark.

How much do you charge for a remap of a fabia vrs?

Theirs more to it then just software. Understanding how the engine/ecu works. Finding the maps in the software, updating the checksum.

Plenty of info out their.

........and worth every penny

And not a hint of sarcasm ;)

You pay your money you take your choice. You either go to a reputable tuner who have years of experience tuning and remapping all sorts of cars or some kid selling them on eBay after he downloaded them off a file sharing site somewhere.
