Cupra Front Splitter purchased :)

Featured Replies

I know it was £43.00 but still, I find that easy to swallow. Mx5 owners need to fork out about £140.00 plus for theirs!

Can anyone offer any guides on how to fit it? Had a look on the search and I couldn't find any decent ones? Either that or I can't use the search function or there are no guides :p

Cheers in advance!

mine got nicked off mine Sunday night, thieving t**ts :-@

the next one is getting tiger sealed on haha

Jeez, that's shocking!

£140 plus? How lol

They don't make the mk1 MX5 front splitters any more and are rather rare. This usually ends up with fierce eBay and brand specific forum sales battles that command said high price. The only other alternative is to get a fibreglass replica at 60-80 quid, but everyone knows a fibreglass front splitter wouldn't live very long.

I'm guessing it's just as easy to fit with the bumper still on than it is to take it off?

Indeed, I jacked it up and just cracked on lining it up and screwing in

Did you buy it straight from a dealer?

Yes, but if you are buying from a dealer, make sure its a SEAT dealer, as I went into the local VW garage thinking "Ach, its all VAG stuff anyway" and got shown the front door.

Do the screws hold it in pretty well? Do you use a sealer afterwards to make sure it stays in place?

screws are fine. . .when i get a new one its bin bonded on aswell tho so it can't be nicked like my last one :-@

Well, when I went to local Audi dealer to get ordered in a part for my B5 Passat, I stupidly mentioned what I was going to fit the part to - discussion ended there "we only order parts for Audis" - idiot, it was a common part for B5 A4 and B5 Passat!

I'm not going to have a happy time when I eventually buy an Audi - they seem to employ parts "intermediates" who wear smart clothes and are your only contact with the parts person! - time wasters!!
