Fabia I 1.2 HTP Ambiente Rough Cold Idle

Colleague is looking to buy one for use by wife/daughter and has a report that says it has a rough idle at cold.

So can I have the common causes of this sort of thing and approximate costs for this, so they've an idea of how much to budget/ask for off.

Also anything else to watch out for?

6-valve or 12-valve version?

12V according to the report he's got

In my case I bought a 1.2 HTP with rough idle at cold. I thought it could be down to something simple like a coolant temperature sensor.

Unfortnately it turned out to be the dreaded cam chain. It cost me £130 and many hours of gruelling work. Budget for a garage job to be £400->£700

My advice would be to find another 1.2 HTP that starts normally.

That or get a suitable discount for fixing it I'm guessing?
