Reseting Mileage

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

just wondering is there a way to reset the mileage?

what i mean is for instance my old car it had overall mileage and like a smaller mileage (could be what you have done weekly)

because i like to reset it everytime i re-fuel

is this possible?

is it to do with PID?

many thanks

there is a reset button on the right stalk but that doesnt reset it

i will have a look

thanks

Owners manual page 13/14

I believe if you have the trip computer if you press the right stick/stalk on the speedo it switches between trip and total mileage, once you have selected trip (it says to the right of it) hold it down and it will reset it.

Yes, I had a look it wasn't that hard I should have known :)

Thanks

Bear in mind that if you reset the trip stats with the PiD connected, it will reset that to zero too.

The "since start" figures are reset automatically after 2 hours inactivity any way.

If you want to keep the total stats, remove the PiD then reset the trip on the car and then refit the PiD

Mine doesn't do that! I reset the trip every time I fill the tank (with the PID connected) and the long term total stats do not reset to zero - the PID still displays the total figures from when I first got the car. I seem to remember reading that the long term figures would only reset to zero if you held the trip reset button on the dash for five seconds.

I can't seem to do a short trip manual reset, I have to wait 2 hours. Any ideas? I have PID and no OBC.

The PID manual seems to indicate that you can't reset the short term figures, only the long term ones (by holding the reset trip button for at least five seoonds)

Rubbish! :(

I like to reset the short trip manually especially if I want to see the cars figures over a certain distance or a specific part of the trip.

Yeah it does seem a bit odd if it can't be done, but I can't find a way to do it!

i've noticed a few things missing as well, on my mk1 fabia vrs you used to be able to have 2 values you could reset which was pretty useful, also every time you take the PID off it seems to reset the whole trip computer?

Yep. Little annoying!

maybe with the car being so advanced, they might have a way of updating the firmware through the PID? possible!
