Featured Replies

HIYA GUYS BIT OF A DAFT QUESTION BUT I CANT FIND MY RESERVOIR FOR THE POWER STEERING AS ITS STIFF SOMETIMES AND FEELS LOW ON OIL..IS IT HIDDEN OUT OF VIEW OR AM I BLIND :)

You must be blind, you have typed your whole post in CAPITAL letters.

Sorry couldnt help myself, however i think your power steering is fully electric

Yep I believe octy power steering is all electric so no reservoir.

It is possible to adjust the resistance of the steering using VCDS.

I believe so but never tried it. I have vcds so if I get a chance tomorrow I will have a look, unless some knowledgeable person comes along in the meantime.

I believe so.

44 - Steering assist then channel 1 on adaption........pick a number between 1 and 6 for steering weight.

I've not adjusted mine, but when I looked a few months ago, I think it was set at 3 on my Octavia.

You're blind, because there isn't one.

Before you start thinking you have a fault, have you checked the obvious of tyre pressures and tracking?

Lol sorry about the capitol letters hehehe ..

Thanks guys i just wasnt sure on these models..ive checked tyres and all seems ok so i will have to check my settings..still a **** hot motor..cant wait to take the dpf off :)

If you have only just bought it I would get a proper 4 wheel geometry check done on a Hunter rig or similar. There is a place in Pudsey that lots of people on here use, or have a look at Wingerworth Tyres in Chesterfield (not sure if it is a Hunter rig there though), depending where you are in South Yorkshire.

The chances are it is out slightly, and the handling is so much better after it is set up correctly. As well as saving on having to buy new rear tyres due to 'sawtoothing'.

Happy to help!
