Cooling fan running on

Featured Replies

Is this common on CR vRS (2011), had the car a couple of weeks now. About 3 times now

the cooling fan has run after the ignition is switched off - for a few minutes. Didn't

seem to be weather dependant either, couple of days it was about 24 degs outside

then last time it was about 16 degs.

Also, it's seems bloomin thirsty!!!! Although I did trade in my 1.6CR, that seemed to do about

a million MPG!!

Mine does the same i think it's to do with the engine temperature during the DPF clean, goes off after while.

whats thirsty? i get 56 on a run and 45-48 round town

It does settle to about 48-50 MPG on the way to work and back which isn't bad for a 15 minute drive through hilly twisty country roads. I'm convinced I can see the needle moving though compared

to the 1.6!

Hope the fan thing is normal. How often does it do the DPF clean?? Or is it just as and when?

As and when required

My fan has only run on once since I've had it.........I panicked too, but as the other guys said its normal.

Could be that your engine has only just reached peak temps on your 15 minute drive

And the dpf needs to be really hot before it can do its regen also engines overfuel while reaching operating temps

As and when required

The DPF regens every 600-700 miles whether it needs to or not.
