Hi,

I'm needing new rear discs on my 2011 VRS CR TDi but struggling to determine what size they are (without taking the wheel off and measuring) - seems that they changed from 286mm to 272mm sometime around 2010/2011. Anyone know exactly when they changed or is there an easy way to determine what discs are on my car? When I use sites such as eurocarparts they give me both options (plus 260 & 255mm). I have Bosch callipers if that makes any difference.

post a clear pic showing the disc and back plate though the wheel (you can tell by the backplates but it's hard to explain)

Any area of the disc in particular? I've attached one but it's not the best. Can easily take another if required. Thanks

looks like 286mm from that pic, please take a pics from opposite the calaiper if you can

if u ask me, they look 'destroyed'.

what did happen?

Either there was a fault on the disc or you drive around like you're at Brands Hatch and overheated the breaks!

Or the local hand car wash has some evil acid to get brake dust of the wheels and doesn't rinse it off the discs quick enough!
