Best component speakers that fit for around

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend speakers for around £50, I'm just replacing the fronts and will be replacing the headunit at the same time, they will be unamped.

Cheers

Look at speaker sensitivity ratings for unamp'd. You need to make every watt work! Even so, too much bass is still likely to strain the h/u.

If there's nothing wrong with your standard speakers, it's an idea to try them with the new h/u first. Some have reported good results doing it that way.

Thanks mate will try that.

Anyone else?

Changed the standard stereo for an Alpine in my last Fabia and the difference was huge. Just changed the standard stereo for a Kenwood in the vRS and again the difference is huge. Like vindaloo says, try your new head unit first before you go for new speakers.

Will do thanks, i have bought a HU

£50 AND "best" is a bit limiting.

Hertz Dieci are often recommended for running off the head unit power. These are the only ones that would fit http://caraudiosecur...s_id/17378.html

Pioneer TS-A171ci should work well off head unit power http://www.amazon.co...e/dp/B004GHNQ9A and receive a good review here http://www.talkaudio...ers-review-r944

If budget is important, Alpine SXE1750s http://www.online-ca...t-s-446298.html will fit and run off head unit power. Opinions on these are mixed here, with some saying they are definitely better than the standard speakers, and some saying they're terrible and most notably lack any bass.
