Managed to cut my head too when headbutting the disc, after the ratchet slipped off :D

Can already tell the difference even with light braking, old ones were shot!

Back on the standard dogbone mount and all vibration has gone :)

Soo much smoother under standard driving.

That's good. What doggone did you have before?

65 Shore. Swapped it for a whole new mount, easier than changing bushes :D

It is great for aggressive driving, but for every day use, I just found it too harsh.

Much happier having no vibration :D

EGR delete after my MOT next week.

Oh cool. I have the 70 shore which vibrates the keys something rotten!

I had heard the 65 shore didnt vibrate th car? that was going to be my next purchase!

I've just ordered one! Hopefully the vibration won't be too bad. I thought it was less harsh than the Superpro bush, because the shore rating on the Superpro one is higher I think?

Yeah no problem. Will hopefully get it fitted this weekend, along with the rest of the Powerflex front bushes I've ordered (wishbone front and rear bushes and anti roll bar bushes).

Just read through your thread mate, good work! Will be interesting to see pics of and after math of new egr delete/ smaller gasket to see if it stops the engine judder!

Cheers bud.

Well I blanked it off yesterday, loads better, not soo much stopped the vibration, but smoothed out the engine 'misfire'

Doesn't knock so much, but the engine still vibrates.

Was going to check my alternator clutch pulley, but didn't have a 16mm spanner :D Will check that next week.

awsome spence! i hope you took some progress pics blanking off egr etc bud, i need to get mine done lol!!

No I didn't I was swearing too much due to dropping bolts :D

Not sure how most peopel do theirs, but all I did was to put the blanking plate below the EGR, then reconnect it all up, leaving all the pipework in place, just blanked off.

No EML either :)

I can write a guide if you need :)

hmm is it worth it like? if u do get just a slight hick up in your engine?? how much would a reasonable price be then bud?

  • Author

Well the blanking plate is about £3 on ebay, and that is all I used :)

If you want to do it the proper way, I think it is about £70.

yea yea lol ive heard about the cheap ones.. are they safe enough?!

do u get any performence benifits out of your motor with it?

cheers mate

Well all it is, is a metal blanking plate. Can't be dangerous :D

Haven't really notice any performance increase, however the intake is much cleaner.

Changed the temp sensor this week as the gauge was going crazy, doing the thermostat as well next week.

Also ordered some silicone hose and end cap so I can do the Elephant Mod :).

Will also try and do a guide for the temp sensor and thermostat as we have it for the 1.4, but not so much the vRS 1.9

Springs not fitted yet.

Tax just been renewed.

Insurance due for renewal.

Driveshaft now needs replacing also.

Rear brakes need sorting as one caliper is sticking.

Needs two new rear tyres (being done on Monday)

Cambelt due, being done a week today.

One expensive month :D

Well, after getting it back from VW (Skoda ****ed up....) having the cambelt done (and CV joint in the end), my vibration on idle has been massively minimised.

So it was mostly down to the timing!

Drives 10x better, too.

Finally got my EML off :D

Been on for about 5 months with CTS code, replaced CTS many times, still on.

Attacked a section of wiring, still on.

So today, I created a loom nigh on from the ECu to the CTS, all sorted :)

Still couldn't get the suspension struts out :(

Heated seats and Xenons. Nice spec mate! :)
