Overall I am chuffed with the car, the paint has a few minor faults but average for the age of the car really. Full history too which was a bonus.

Have only managed a quick clean due to work but have the following planned for this weekend:

Full clean, form clay'ing to wax.

Wheel polish and sealant as I am already getting annoyed with cleaning brake dust off.

Hoover inside- Had a valet not long ago but has general dust in there now.

Engine detail as it is filthy.

Fit front cup holder if it arrives.

Future plans:

Black grill surround

Arm rest

Maybe a slight suspension drop

New badges as the current ones are a bit tatty looking

PD160 intake

Clean the EGR as a precaution.

Thanks :)

Welcome to the site mate and your car looks great. Heated seats too!

A suspension drop is a must, they look like a boat as standard. Future plans sound good, have you thought of replacing the aerial? The original one is a little on the big side and scrapes the spoiler

After actually looking at it, yes :D It is a bit, err big!

Cupholder arrived, not too sure I prefer it though.

Todays MOD.

Not too happy with my skills of doing it though, it is far from perfect. Think eventually I will go for it colour coded.

why dont you see if phil will dip one for you? if he's any good at it i might send him mine for doing ;)

  • Author

Going to plasti dip it. Wouldn't trust Phil with Lego.

is that the spray on rubber from a can stuff? like rooney did on the wing for his Focus?

  • Author

It is from a can yeah but no idea if Mark used it. He did recommend it and said it is brilliant stuff.

Just looking at what else i can do to the car that is easy and cheap but makes a difference, subtle little mods.

Powerflex 65shore dogbone mount fitted today. Has seriously reduced the vibration on idle so I am very happy. Was a bitch to do with only sockets and screwdrivers lol

PD160 Intake ordered as well as some black wheel bolt covers and battery cover.

Bought a second set of front calipers so I can strip and paint them, tidy up the front a bit.

Ordered a replacement smaller EGR gasket, hoping to take away some vibration.

Well spent today cleaning the car a bit.

Got a free wax from car-chem. Hard to apply but the best shine I have ever got!

Well yesterday I attempted to solve my shake at idle, thinking it was the injector loom.

Mmmmm, mess!

Hope I remember where it all goes

Was almost happy when I saw this, notice the grey wire is exposed.

So fitted the new one and started it (was happy it started tbh :D)

Took it for a test drive, got it warm, but no, still a shake on idle. Next guess is injector :(

You sure it's not the EGR valve that needs cleaning?

i thaught the shake at idle was something to do with the egr valve, i think i read it someware :)

  • Author

I have cleaned it.

I think it needs a new gasket towards the manifold side too, so going to get that to stop any leaks, then also got a blanking plate for the EGR to see if that works.

May also source a second hand EGR to try. Thanks for the input.

DMF on its way out can also cause shakes at idle. Just a thought. Anyway, cars looking very clean :)

  • Author

DMF was replaced less than 20k ;)
