rear Fog Lights

Featured Replies

As the manual says only the rear offside fog works in the UK but there is a bulb fitted to the rear near side cluster I would have thought the rear nearside would have worked when you select travel mode ie driving on the righthand side. Any info on this or is there any way to get both rear fogs light

Thanks

Not sure about travel mode but there is no way to get both working, lots of discussions about this in the octavia section back in 2008/2009 when the face lift model came in.

When fitting a towbar and electrics, panels removed and only the offside was wired for the bulb operation!

My car is a 2010 2.0l SE!

Deffo need to get it wired to other side as there is one less cable on the loom. I know this for a fact as I have just had it done !! Don't think both can light up at same time, it's one or the other.

Disconnect it and run it through a double throw switch. I haven't bothered How often do you need it in another country and by the time someone following you realizes it's on the "wrong" side he should be on the brakes anyway.

Yeti arrives in Dec and will be connecting both fogs by using wire from offside to near side to make euro legal. No issues with canbus system on VW so expect no issues with Yeti.

Cody let me know how you get on with that as both the UK and German dealers reckoned you can't light both up ! Btw have you noticed that yetis are breeding here in bfg! Here they are in double figures now !!

Both fogs working will increase the possibility of being hit up the back. When only one works and the brake is applied two lights come on and this is easier to see, when both fogs are illuminated the brake lights become less obvious. This is why only one fog light is wired.

Hi! I am on the other side of the same coin from some of you guys in that as we have returned from Burgundy to Scotland, with our French-registered LHD Yeti Ambition 1.2 TSi, I need to change to UK spec.

I am about to embark on the process of getting it registered in the UK (Including fog light rewire and headlight-change unless DVLA confirms that it will accept that a Skoda dealer computer change to the dip beam to produce a flat beam is acceptable as "a standard feature of the vehicle, eg done via operation of a lever" as they say on their VCA application) ....

...UNLESS ....it occurred to me that you guys in bfg or otherwise might know someone who would like to SWAP CARS??

So, if anyone would like to save themselves and me the conversion hassle, I have about three weeks before I need to re-register. Shot in the dark but I thought it worth a try.

I think I'm about to advertise her elsewhere on the forum too.

Meantime, I think I'lll take a look at that fog light wiring on mine...
