A member on here has asked for some help with my vcds. He has done an egr delete with an allard kit and has the warning light on the dash now. Is it possible to turn the light off with vcds so it doesnt come back on. And how would i do it. Ive not had a chance to look at the car yet would it be a case of clear the fault and thats it done.

I read somewhere that VCDS can turn EGR up/down within a certain range. But to eliminate it, you need to get into the ECU maps.

Ah not good news thanks for the reply. Would you know if it would do damage running the car with the egr out and the eml light on.

It needs mapping out as previously stated

Will it damage the car? No. But wouldn't you fail an MOT? The ECU might also restrict performance (limp mode) as it expects to read lower airflows when the EGR is open.

which ever way you slice it remapping is the only way
