Skoda dealers in Yorkshire area

Featured Replies

Im looking at going to a skoda dealer today or tomorrow to work out a deal on a blackline octy (If there are any left!)

Im looking for a dealer who is going to be willing to give me a decent test drive in a VRs as im yet to drive one and then not try and screw me over on a Part Ex of my current car.

Do any of you have any good sales experiences? Im happy to travel upto an hour outside of yorskhire if it means im going to speak to someone who is actually going to try and look after me rather than just sell me a piece of tin.

any recommendations?

I found D.M Keiths in Leeds to be very good.

Good to know. Id heard differing reviews from there. I might pop in this aft and see what they are like. Anyone used the huddersfield branches or bikcerton skoda in sheffield?

Thumbs up for DM Keith in Leeds. Staff are superb!!!

I bought mine from Rainworths in Mansfield. Excellent Service and good part ex. Bickerton's is owned by the same person who owns Rainworths

Ive heard good reports about Chapmans in Pickering

Benfield in Harrodate arn't bad, I've had my moments with them, but mantamad ( simon ) may think otherwise

Well I popped in this afternoon and had a chat. Am going down at the weekend for a test drive and will hopefully get a price for my part ex by then to see if this is a viable change for me or not.

I'd like to go armed with some information so appreciate any help on the following

1. Anyone know what the maximum deposit you can put down on a PCP is? I want to put about 6 grand down (including my part ex) which will leave me about 10 grand to pay. That works out at about 230 a month on PCP but with quite a high 7grand baloon payment.

2. 0% interested me. I can get together the 50% deposit but doesn anyone know if you can take this out over 3 years rather than the 2 years on the website?

3. Anything else its worth me asking other than delivery dates? Current MOT runs out on 21st october and im pretty sure a new car isnt going to turn up by then.

Im still not sold though. Im hoping the test drive makes me a little happier. Im going to wait and see what offer they give me on the part ex and then see if i can get any other better deals from another dealership.

I wouldn't recommend putting anything more than 10% deposit down on a car with PCP. Although it will bring you payments down, you will struggle (I presume) to find the same deposit again for your next PCP deal and then you're payments will shoot up, which might be a bit of a shock to the wallet.

I've been told my Blackline should be here by middle of October so you might be in luck for the 21st if you order soon enough.

I take your comments onboard. I'm not expecting to trade this one in in 3 years to be fair (unless its a lemon) and I'm currently weighing up getting this PCP deal versus getting a sainsburys loan at 5.8% apr. I just need to work out the difference in the total amount I pay and decide if the PCP is worth it once I take into account the free servicing and dealer contributions.

I've been sat looking over the figures tonight and I've come to the conclusion that I've not been offered anywhere near the deal for the finance which is on the website at the minute.

I was offering a 6 grand deposit, plus the 500 dealer contribution. Apparently that comes out at 240 a month over 36 months with a 7 ish grand balloon payment. What I don't understand is that I was told in the dealership that this was 8.3%. I thought Not a million miles away from the advertised on the website at 7.9% until I've come home and had another look and I reckon I was quoted a flag rate rather than an apr. i plugged the same figures into pcpcalc online calculator and the monthly figure was much lower. Should be an interesting conversation to have tomorrow with the dealer.

You realise by doing this with PCP, you are guaranteeing to lose your deposit over the 3 years if you need to change the car.

Skoda also do HP at 7.9%, which includes the free servicing and £500 deposit contribution. Your payments would be higher, but you'd pay less total interest and own the car after 3 years.

Payment is roughy £310 a month over 36, with no balloon.

That dealer is trying it on I think.

Interesting. I was told they don't do the free servicing and dealer contribution on the normal hp deal.

Contacted Bickerton this morning and left a message. Basically the first dealer to offer me whats on the skoda website and a value for my partex which comes close to CAP gets my money. Im not even after free mats

You would have thought it would be easier than this to buy a car at month/quarter end but seemingly not.

I tried the dealers in Sheffield, Doncaster & Huddersfield and told them all about the drive the deal price and what I was looking for. Huddersfield beat the drive the deal price (admittedly by only £10) and were just short of CAP value, while the others were a few hundred higher.

PM me if you want the salesmans name that I dealt with.

Cheers Housey

I'm even happy to pay the price for the blackline so its not even a case of me haggling on that count. I just want 7.9% over 3 years and a decent part ex price. Im confident someone will see sense and sell me a car this weekend.

Ill give huddesfield a call. I seem to recall they are a Benfield dealer. My wifes old man is a sales manager for Benfield (albeit a Ford garage) but im just wondering if he knows someone there. Would you mind PM'ing the name of the person you spoke to? That would be appreciated.

I've PM'd you Kris good luck on getting a good deal and a blackline in the spec you want

bloody typical, no white ones left now! Do I go blue?? I dont like black!

Oh and Bickerton got my business. No bull**** approach from them and gave me the numbers i was looking for (well within 8 quid!) so that settled it.

Both the DSG and manual in white have gone?

  • Author

I was just after the Manual, didnt ask about the DSG

Ah okay, I only ask because I've asked to swap my order from manual to DSG. Although I had to write a letter to someone from SUK to do this.

But that may well mean there's a white manual available, if you've not already ordered?

  • Author

Interesting... If you could PM me your name and which dealer you ordered from. I can then give my dealer a call tomorrow and see what can be done
