Not so lowered octy vrs

Featured Replies

Hey, Ive just had my 2010 vrs dropped 20mm on the eibachs. It just don't really look any different. Handling is loads better wirh no dive on braking and pretty solid in the corners, i know it's only a 20mm drop but thought it might look a bit lower than it does? Does anyone know if it will improve as they wear in? Cheers

They should settle over the coming weeks and through use.

Mine is lowered 30mm

It took a few weeks to settle fully

It looks better when spacers are fitted front and rear!

Certainly better with spacers to the rear from my experience. Perfect drop height IMHO

Thanks for the info guys, been looking at spacers so I'll see how it goes in the next few weeks.

Mine is lowered 55mm and this might be too low for some people but i like it but yes it will settle more over the coming weeks, just go find some bumpy roads to help her along a bit more.

My eibachs didn't “settle“ as such. The height I had on the day they were fitted was where they stayed.

Agree the drop is not significant. I have coilovers now btw.

i have the eibach springs, but a week later fitted coilovers as i wanted it lower

+1

its been a couple of months now.

fronts dropped 30mm.

+1 for spacers too.

i put 12mm spacers at the rear.

Backs looking good but the front is still slightly too high, yellow looks mint with the dark glass, I just didn't have the balls to go for it myself lol. Is that on coil overs? I'll defo go for the spacers just for that finishing touch! Love the feel of mine now no more nasty swaying around, even got some good air time on a little hump on the back roads home from work. Not that I endorse driving like a **** of course :)

Is that on coil overs?

nope, just like urs - eibach prokit with 20mm drop.

as i mentioned in previous post, the front dropped/settled a lot more (10mm more) than the rear did.

this caused car angle downwards up front, causing issues with my xenon self levelling adjustment.

measurements (with full tank) from the ground to the top of the wheel arch:-

front: 650mm

rear: 670mm

for me, the front is spot on. i was hoping the rear would drop/settle just as much, but it didn't :(

Mines the other way round-nose high. Just hope it don't take too long to settle

mine was nose high, rear low on eibachs (estate) but that could have been down to the dampers (koni fsd). I didn't look anywhere near as low as JR RS's car.

I have just bought an Octavia VRS 170 and have been toying with the idea of a slight drop to help the looks and sharpen the ride up. I have a post on here re the decision. However I was looking at the Eibach pro kit on original shocks as they are fine. I can presume you guys have all used these then. The stance looks very nice, briskodian that's about what I am aiming for.

I take it this does not ruin the ride and is a good compromise for the car. This is my daily so nothing over the top

Some advice from anyone running this would be appreciated prior to ordering, cheers

Bump, for opinion please. Order time approaching.

opinion on the eibach springs?they do make the suspension more solid, you will lose alot of the body roll but they are not too stiff that it makes the ride uncomfortable.

i have used them on the standard shocks with no problems.

Cheers bud thanks for that

Totally agree with the above tho would change a 'lot of body roll' to 'some body roll!' i have 15mm spacers back and 11mm on front 'i think'

Hi folks, im new to mk2 octavia mods so bare with me. I too think i need to lower the car a tad as it does sit quite high on the standard springs. What are the best springs to fit Eiback,FK or H&R? I had coil overs on the mk1 but felt these were a bit harsh for the bairn and dog. Also there is a lot of talk about spacers on the forums i take it they are just to make the wheel to wheel arch relation more pleasing to the eyes. Has anyone had problems since fitting spacers as experience of wheel spacers i have had on cars i had years ago were wheel bearings ,road vibration coming through into the car and the anoying issue of the car wanting to track along any imperfection in road surfaces?

I have 30mm Pi's

I love my H & R 55/40 kit, along with Whiteline ARBs....
