Central locking fault

Featured Replies

Anyone else had trouble with their keyfobs not responding when locking the car?

At times I've had to lock the car manually because the car won't lock when I press the button on the keyfob, if I then go to unlock the car with the keyfob it still doesn't respond. If I try again 5-10 mins later it works.

This has happened in 6 or 7 different locations so I can rule out the possibility of outside inteference with the signals sent from the key.

I've rang and spoke to Skoda and they said that if the buttons are pressed pretty quickly it can confuse the C/L system, but I literally pressed it once and it didn't work, then tried again 15 seconds later and still the same. Both my keyfobs are like this when it happens.

Worst thing is with it being an intermittant problem I don't want to be booking it in with Skoda for them to say they cannot fault the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mine has just started wont lock with fob or open lock with the key then the red light stays on for about 1 min the flashes if i press the fob to open it wont if i use the key the light still flashes i can open the door but the alarm goes off i have to put the key in the ignition turn on turn off then the light goes out back to normal till the next time the fob is set to on press all doors open

Mine does both the above from time to time, mostly it is OK so I put up with it until the car has to go to dealers for something else.

Not surprised others have problems, the locking system obviously has glitches.

LI battery or remote cmd error dealer if it's under warranty - has the prob with mine

CMD?

You need to have the dealer retrofit some diodes on the locking system inside the door panels so that it will operate correctly. It is a known fault and shows itself in numerous different ways, but all are related to this fault. It is a very quick job. This is definitely the cause of your bewildering problem!

Agree with above - I had the same problem until the diodes were replaced about a year ago. No problems since.

My mum has had this problem a few times !

Mine has done it twice
