Muckipups old K04 Octavia VRS - SOLD

Featured Replies

first the Background -

I have only recently bought this car from Dave and, as I explained to him when I bougth it, I expected to be able to keep it until at least September 2013. This is because I'm seconded to a project at work that was due to run until the end of September next year at the earliest, and I have to do virtually no business mileage. Things have changed, basically the project ends at the end of March now and my 'normal' role will not exist - I will be redundant.

I'll be fine, and financially it could be great actually, but that depends on how long it takes me to find a new job. What I do know for sure, is that economy will be more important than power as I'll be needing to do a lot more business mileage with a new job becasue of the nature of my work.

I am in no rush to sell the car, but I expect it will take some time because of the very high specification which is why I am listing it now - I will happily show anyone the car, but all I would ask is that you check out the insurance costs first - It cost me £550 fully comp with SKY (after some shopping around) and I'm 43 with full NCB and a clean licence, all mods declared.

Finally, Dave sold me this car for a good price as he didn't want to break it and sell the mods. This is my position also and I will ONLY give consideration to going down this route if still have the car near to March next year (i.e. if I have no other option).

PX -

I am not a trader, just an enthusiast. The only reason I say I'll consider taking a px is because I know this car will be harder to sell than a standard (or less modified) one. So, if I took a PX it would be on the basis of your car plus cash and I'd probably just sell your car on (unless it is a diesel or a cheap run around - or both).

The Car -

I will list the full details later today and get some photo's up, but all the work has been completed by JKM portsmouth to a very high standard and with 328Bhp it is quick to say the least!

Full service history, including cambelt and water pump change. Cruise Control, Heated Seats, rear Parking Sensors, Maxidot MFD, Jumbo box with dual zone climate. - no zenons.

Spec -

KO4 conversion at 56,484 miles By JKM Portsmouth - Included brand new KO4 Turbo, associated pipework and Audi S3 Fuel Injectors - Running Revo Software with rolling road printouts confirming 328 BHP at JKM (their Dyno is believed to be 'relatively' accurate - rather than overstating significantly like Superchips et al)

Forge Twintercooler - front mounted intercoler

APR high Pressure fuel Pump

ITG Maxogen Induction Kit

RS4 Fuel Valve

Pipeworx 3'' Down Pipe and sports Cat

Piper non-resonated 2.5'' exhaust System

Sach's performance Clutch kit, new Dual Mass Flywheel, Clutch Slave Cylinder with APR bolt kit (Fitted April 2011 - so loads of life left in this yet)

Quaife Limited Slip Differential (fitted at same time as the above)

Eibach Rear Anti roll bar

Whiteline anti lift kit

Powerflex torque arm insert

Koni FSD Shock's

Eibach Sportline lowered progressive springs

Porsche NQSBBK (not quite so big big brake kit) - just google NQSBBK and you'll get the idea, basically a massive upgrade over stock, especially with the RS4-2 brake Pads that are fitted.

There might be other stuff I've forgotton, so I'll update as I remember.

The price - £6,800 - As I'm sure Dave will confirm, this is what I paid for it and I won't accept less - it is the bargain of the century at this price (the modifications cost more than this!)

I will update with full details later today, but please feel free to PM me with any questions/px offers.

Thanks for now.

does it come with any standard parts ???

how about an octy mk1 elegance etste 1.8t 4x4 plus cash ;-)

Have a few bits and Bobs, but not the old turbo, suspension etc - basically none of the parts required to return it to standard really.

feel free to pm me with details of your car, but please bare in mind the asking price is as low as it is out of respect to Dave as he wanted to sell quickly (and I'm not profiteering here) - in other words any PX needs to be at a realistic price.

If I end up having to go down the Ebay/pistonheads route later down the line my asking price will be higher.

Hope that makes sense

What mileage is now on the car.

What mileage is now on the car.

86,387 - but most of the mods inc turbo, injectors etc where only done at about 50k miles, have most of the bills to prove.

many thanks.

I want this so bad!

I won't lie, I am gutted - but in the overall scheme of things it's far from the end of the world.

on the positive side, if I find a new job quickly I'll probably be in a position to order something brand new (diesel). It's too soon to start looking yet though, as I couldn't start a new job until at least the begining of April.

In some respects, in very uncertain times, at least I have some sight of the next six months!!

lol, I'd love it Mark, wonder if he'd take monthly payments :D

Ive got my eye on something else anyhow

GLWTS tho, someone's going to get a beast of a car

Cheers

Damo

Whats the mpg like when your not busy surprising other drivers?

I achieve around 37mpg at sat-nav 70mph (75 ish on speedo) with the cruise on without any problems at all.

I think Daves 'average' with the car was 31mpg - including porsche baiting!!

Seriously fella, any other time I would have bitten your hand off for this

Best of luck with the sale

Damo

if insurance wouldn't murder me I'd be very tempted.

I should have bought this instead of a boring 1.9 tdi 105 BHP kid mobile

Do you want to do a swap for my TFSI

I'll be needing a diesel whatever happens unfortunately, even if I get a new job quickly as my mileage will rocket!

Have a Briskodian viewing it on Monday, which is much sooner than I expected really, but needs must.

  • Author

Car was viewed and driven, at some speed, today and all seemed very positive but not heard anything back yet.

If this chap doesn't want it, I think I might just remove it from sale for now and worry about it next march

  • Author

Deposit now on-route :(

should be pleased, but gutted really - I love this car, it's probably the best car I've ever owned - simply fantastic.

Now to find something that's diesel, or cheap and cheerful, ....or both - going to be some come down

Congrats on the sale :'(

Damo

What did it sell for out of interest? As you may know, my car is almost identical in many ways.
