After asking around (a lot), I have heard of one driver who ended up with a £120 fine but he is a real richardhead and it took him several goes.

He was stopped because his insurer was slow at updating MID, but a quick phone call sorted it out.

I spoke to the guy who was with him and he said as the cops were walking away, he called them 'road nazis' and 'the dregs of the police force'. At this point they decided to have a better look at his car. He was told to inform DVLA about the colour change or get it removed. He was stupid enough to tell them he would do neither.

About a month later, the same cops pulled him over again. He was easy to spot as he has a Gulf coloured GT-R. I don't know what happened this time except that he got a £120 fine.
