Hmm, looks like a rapid to me, based on the shape of the rear brake lights

That's what I thought, but it does look to big in the pictures ????? Lets hope the guy get more photos soon.

Don't see how that can be a Rapid - thought that was only being offered as one bodystyle?

The photos are a nice find, but they don't give away an awful lot.

ooo......nice find.

waiting for more pics :)

You mean "looks like a new skoda". It shares design cues with the rapid because the rapid is the latest skoda.

Couple of details tell me this isn't a Rapid.

1) The door handle holes appear to be more like those found on a new passat

2) Lower crease along body not the same

3) Headlight shape seems more steeply raked

I thought that Skoda had confirmed that they where not doing an estate Rapid either.

Good find though!

Wish I could say I did some hard work and found these photo's, but no I did not. I got them from a guy on you tube doing a skoda video at the Paris motor show. He has said there will be pictures very soon for the octy 3.

Compare the bodywork surrounding the headlight against the picture below, very similar although not the same. The bumper joint is in a different place. Agreed that the rear lights look like the Rapid but suggest they are just coming from same parts bin.

The overall shape, discounting the bolder lines, looks very like the current octavia estate.

These pictures are a few months old.

Skoda Rapid Spaceback is coming next year.

Yep, that body shell is a Rapid estate.

Yep, that body shell is a Rapid estate.

But the lower door creases are not the same as the Rapid doors.... I don't think it is a Rapid.

Also look at the bumper shut line, the Rapid is at a 45 degree angle, the factory photo shows a horizontal cut.

These photos were released a long time ago. I do think it is the next Octavia though...

Look at the picture of the Rapid estate in post #13.

The door creases and bumper shutline are identical.

If the car in post #13 is indeed a Rapid estate then the body shell pictured earlier very much looks like a Rapid to me...

Look at the cut line in the wing for the headlight on the car on the production line and compare it to the Rapid. It's identical.

I very much doubt that the Octavia III will share the exact same headlight / wing profile.

Silver, look closely at post 11, theres a no difference in height where the top of the headlamps go into the grill on the Rapid.

But when you look at the spy factory shot, the grill location actually has a cut out for the grill, that'll make it look more purposeful compared to the Rapid.

I believe that post 13 is a digital edit of a Rapid Sportback prediction? :)

Am I the only one thinking whether there's an actual need for an Octy and Rapid estate?

I mean, are they really going to be that different?

comparing the build pictures to the image below (published a few weeks ago), i'd say its spot on with the new octavia.

I know I posted the link, but I'm still unsure what car I think it is. Some ways I look at it I see rarapid, then other ways I see major differances?????

This looks tidy.

The fronts are all very similar but I would say looking again at the Sportback picture, the shell is more like that. I tend to agree with silver regarding the shut lines.

The sportback idea and a couple have been floating around for sometime but have not heard anything concrete or otherwise.

I can't imagine skoda rushing out with a rapid estate. But the Octavia estate is a core model and needs continuance.

The body in white in the original link does not match the front or rear details of the Rapid. Bumper fit and pillars are all different.

I reckon Skoda have people in their marketing department who are responsible for drip feeding these sneaky pictures out to keep us all guessing!?
