the question's i need answering please guys are

1/ how do i find out if this is one of the oil pump failure engines?(i have the chassis number and reg etc)

2/ it has approved skoda warranty for 12 months and has 41800 miles on it but am i right in presuming they can go at any time(the oil pumps)

3/ the dpf issue doesnt bother me as i do 30 miles a day on the motorway (or is the problem not associated with short trips?)

all help / advice appreciated guys

cheers

in 2008 all the 140BHP Superbs were PD, whereas the 170BHP were CR.

The oil pump failure as has been said many times on here is not a problem at all the on the MK2 Superb as its a totally different engine. I ran a PD140 with no issues for 44K miles and 2 years. The MK2 PD140 bares more in common with the Octavia MK2 than the MK1 Superb including a totally different crankcase.

DPF is a non issue as well, for the last year I owned it the car covered very few miles, doing around 20 miles per week and the DPF was never a problem.

The 140CR was not introduced until March 2010, so yes it is a PD, but as Manny said above it is a different engine to that used in the MKI superb.

i was about to get my deposit back

cheers guys

If it was advertised as a CR and it's a PD then you would be perfecly entitled get your deposit back.

Depends if they have priced it as a CR or PD.

Considering they didn't make a 140CR Superb in 2008 they can have only priced it as a PD
