Gauging the response for 2 new how to's

Featured Replies

This weekend I will attempting the impossible (well for me anyway), fitting parking sensors to my Fabia vRS and the rear mudflaps at the same time.

Im aware the rear mud flaps have been covered to an extent but I plan on doing a full "how to" with quality pictures if anyone is interested, I am planning on shaving a bit of the rear bumper off as opposed to modifying the mudflaps and I am unsure to what extent this has been covered before?

Also, whilst this won't be everyone's cup of tea I am fitting the rear parking sensors on my car this weekend, so that my goodself and SWMBO hopefully wont have any accidents in the near future (not that she has ever crashed :D, "he says as she's reading my post"...)

The reason why I am probably wasting my finger power on this thread is that I expect the wiring/good quality pictures including text particuarly for the rear sensors to take up a bit of time so there really is no point in doing this if other people aren't considering it.

What are your thoughts?

1. Are you spraying the sensors yourself?

2. Are you using the Fabia aftermarket kit?

3. Good luck

No unfortunately they'll be black until my next pay packet when I can get them sprayed to match the car

2. Are you using the Fabia aftermarket kit?

I believe it's the Skoda one yes' date=' it has a Skoda brochure and it's specific for the Fabia, it also came in a Skoda box[/color']

3. Good luck

THANKS!!!

It's worth doing it as the clearer the pics the more chance there is I may bite the bullet and fit something to the car myself, one day

Good luck Chris

A write up would be great, though I doubt i'll be using it :o

Parking sensors is something I will consider within the next couple of months, but i'll more than likley get them fitted by someone ;)

Let us know how you get on :)

Yes, do it - I'd be interested to see how the parking sensors work out.

The Mud flaps please.....Me with a trimming Knife, might cut the wrong bit off

its very hard to cut the wrong bit off trust me

simply take wheel off then look at the back oh the arch where the lower bumper wraps around into the arch there is a lip just cut that off

Go for it!

I'll proberly end up with only the lip left....Take the Wheel off...Can't wifes at work

Is it possible to get the sensors sprayed then to match the car - if so i might consider it so the how to would be great.

I've also thought about rear mud flaps so that would be very handy!!!

I'd certainly make use of the rear mud-flap guide too. Tey are sat in my boot at the moment until I get the confidence up to start chopping away at my car!!!

I won a set of rear parking sensors last summer - but the dealer refused to fit them when I suggested it at purchase.

I reversed into a bollard two weeks ago...
