Urgent!

Featured Replies

Will try that later!

My mate whos a mechanic says it it could be the Central Convenience Module!

if it is that then i would expect to get some codes etc with vagcom

get the vehicle scanned

  • Author

Its going into skoda on fridayto get a full scan!

Cant find the fault at all, used vag com, stripped the dash out, looked under the engine bay and still nothing!

Will have one last look later!

Cheers buddy!

looking at those diagrams it says

TV2 - Terminal 30 junction, behind dash panel on left

although i would read that as on right as these seem to be for lh drive car

from what i can see from another diagram therre is a voltage control module which from the picture looks like the convienience module in the same area

Removing and installing vehicle voltage

control unit

Removing

Remove the storage compartment on driver side

? Body Fitting Work; Rep. Gr. 68.

First of all, unplug the connector -1-.

Push the catch -2- slightly up and remove the vehicle

voltage control unit downward.

Installing

Installation of the battery is carried out in the reverse

order.

seems possible a connector is loose on that

i would try a PM to techie1, and see if he has any suggestions

This is now sorted, west end skoda in broxburn done a great job.

A contact relay failed as i thought.

£110 to diagnose and then fix the problem!

Happy chappy, great service! Even got a courtesy car for free!

Thanks to everyone helped on here aswell!

glad it is sorted

did they tell you which relay ? or is there a part number on the invoice?

just so we can keep a record for any future similar problems

It was number 11 im sure, ihave the invoice at home! At the pub the now so will check tomorrow!

This is very interesting!

Last week, my Fabia (2005 1.2), started to show the exact same symptoms: The fan, the AC-button indicator and rear wiper stopped working. I don't have electrical windows as you, so they are still working when operated manually :)

This morning, I delivered the car to the local authorized Skoda dealer / repair workshop.

Later this day, they called me and said that the fan control unit (or something like that) needed to be replaced. I thought it was odd that these problems occured simultanously. I asked if it could possible be a fuse. They said that the fuses were ok and the reason for these events to occur simultanously was probably a coincidense. By replacing the fan controller, the fan and AC would be fixed, they claimed. It would cost me 4000 NOK (£435). In addition to that, they needed to make me a new offer for fixing the rear wiper.

But after reading this thread, I start to suspect that they are wrong and that it is in fact an electric problem.

I am not an expert. So I really don't know what to ask them. Is this a good question: "Have you checked that relay #11 is ok? "

Trev.: Did you get the part number for the relay?

Sorry I didn't spot this, a better title than 'urgent' might have flagged it up for me..lol ;)

Glad it's sorted, sounds like the x relief relay to me possibly. That relay cuts power on cranking to high loading systems so the started gets maximum voltage. So any motors like wipers, windows and blowers are all fed through it.
