Clicking Noise from the Clutch Pedal? VRS CR170

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I've have a quick search on the forums and i could only find something similar on a Fabia with 100k miles so i thought i'd betters ask...

Just recently I've noticed a 'clicking' noise when I engage the clutch and the same noise again on releasing the pedal, i can actually feel it in my foot when it clicks all be it very slight.

Its just over a year old, with 12k miles on the clock.

I had it serviced about 3 months ago as i changed it to annual service seeing as it was paid for... and i have only just noticed it this week.

Does anyone have any ideas? before i take it to the dealer.

I may be nothing, but my OCD will prevent me from ever enjoying a drive in it any more lol.

Cheers.

Is there a spring in the pedal? Sometimes the can click a little on movement. Not got one yet so don't know!

It's under warranty so I'd get it in. My clutch pedal on my Clio fell apart. Never heard of it on an Octy but there will be joints in there that could fail.

booked in anyway... before i wear the clutch out testing the clicky noise :wonder:

will update if it gets sorted and they tell me what the issue was, incase anyone else gets the same thing.

Will be a litlle white retaining clip that locks the master cylinder connecting rod to the pedal, Not that common but we have fitted a few for the same clicking noise you have mentioned.

I have the same issue of a clicking clutch pedal.

Do you have to replace the master cylinder or can you replace the plastic part by dropping the clutch pedal out of the pedal box?

Is is still safe to drive or is it likely the part will break up entirely and prevent the clutch pedal from working?

My nearest Skoda garage has no experience of the problem and recommends changing the return spring. I need to advise them of the correct solution so they can estimate labour hours and material cost.

Any help appreciated.

Mike
