Front Wheel Tramp

Featured Replies

I have an Octavia hatchback vRS which was delivered in June this year. It has the 200PS petrol engine. Current mileage is just under 5,000.

A couple of times I have noticed when accelerating briskly from rest or low speed that I get a degree of wheel tramp. Very recently I attempted to accelerate through a gap in traffic from about 7mph using about three quarter throttle and experinced really violent and very noisy wheel tramp. Is this simply due to a lot of torque being delivered to the front wheels or is there possibly something wrong with the front suspension or traction control.

I would appreciate comments from owners of the same or similar model, has anyone experienced this problem.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is "wheel tramp"? or do you mean wheel spin.

Fit a vibra technics dog bone mount, reduces axle tramp quite a lot
