vRS = Iditot magnet?

Featured Replies

And by that I mean in my few weeks of owning mine, it seems to attract a very large amount of idiots all tearing up behind me in all makes of cars . . . As if I'm going to just suggest pulling over and having a 2fast 2furious style drag race?!

I drive it sensibly, and only up to the speed limit. I'm not risking points and insurance increases, it's expensive enough as it is. So what do these people think is going to happen when they tailgate me? This has all come about since some k##b in a 1.2 (or something) Punto, with his girfriend warming the seat next to him decided to be like a fly buzzing around me yesterday. Leave me alone, I just wanna drive!

So, I presume I can expect this a lot then?

  • I think to sum this up there are just some complete and utter cocks on the road no matter what car your in

  • Oh yeah...........In your Skoda Octavia's with 4 rings on the grille......that you paid £3000 extra for.

Ignore them

+1, I get it all of the time, prats in 1.2 engined cars just being annoying. As Chris said, you're best of just ignoring them :)

Oh I do ignore them, it's just frustrating. But it's even happened with someone in an Audi Q7 3.0 as well. And BMW's, and . . . . and . . . . so on.

Audi, BMW... I see your issue.

I know exactly what you mean. A little corsa etc. trying to race a 1.9TDI what exactly do they think they will acheive??

I try not to rise to it. But when i get too ****ed off with it i play a little game... Say in a 30mph limit - keep slowing down, speeding up, slowing down, speeding up. Never speeding obviously, people tend to get fed up and back off very quickly

I know, they are hardly helping their respective reputations really.

I get this a fair bit..... I usually take it out of gear and give it a few hoofs... The black smoke usually tends to put them off lol or if I'm feeling naughty I loose them ;)

I just ignore them.

Not braking for corners usually leaves them trailing behind anyway. :)

I just let them sit on my bumper. Then they over take with their Halfords exhaust on looking like bell ends. I get it a lot where I am. Mostly 1.2 corsas. If I sneezed and accidentally pressed the go button I would leave them in a cloud of smoke but I try to rise above it. Unless they really p***me off.

+1 on ignoring them. But I tend to just press the go faster pedal and leave them behind if they are with their mates / gf etc.

I love doing this :p approaching roundabouts and not stopping (obviously when safe) then watching their faces as they try and control the car hehehe

I get this and I don't even drive a VRS  They probably expect it to be a 1.2 or something. I let them do it, can't be bothered with them myself. If they've got mates with them though and I'm nearly home I'll give the go pedal a poke, as I'll be across the roundabout before them and half way up the hill to my residential car park. Well, most of the time I'll be across the roundabout. It depends what's coming obviously, the trick is to look ahead, plan where you're going and drive accordingly to what you can see in front of you, approaching the roundabout, and on the roundabout. I can do this without breaking the legal limit, it's all good fun.

I had one yesterday on the M1 come to think of it, I was in the outside lane doing outside lane speeds, had a chavved 1.2 Corsa behind me, I pulled to the middle to let him pass, he followed me and had this going on for the next few miles. Eventually I slowed to 55 / 60 in the inside lane, checked it was clear, into 4th and dropped hammer while pulling into the outside lanes. He went backwards

The "cause maximum embarrassment" approach.

Yes! Always a winner! I've been in numerous cars with mates etc who try and show off and I know how it makes then feel when they get dicked on :)

if yuo use the flull editor you kan corekt it :giggle:

I've JUST had sport with a 61 plate Mercedes E220 and the Fabia was comfortably pulling on it!

I was really surprised as the Mercedes has very similar power 170bhp and 295ft lbs... Of course the Mercedes is slightly heavier.

Blow their doors off that's what I say!

I don't get this happen at all really

It happens from time to time. But mines being sold soon and

I wouldn't chance blowing something just before I want to sell it

just to win a d1ck swinging contest.

I let them go and keep thinking positive.

Doesnt happen in the vrs even though its lowered id expect it to!

My old dc2..that was a magnet for idiots! Vtec y0

I never found my fabia any worse than any other car for attracting these idiots, it just happens sometimes.
