Well, sounds like mine has been ordered this week and have provisional build week 10....

I wrote before it and I will write it again. The new Roomster is not a Roomster in my eyes. It is a totally new car thus should have a new name, just like Citigo, a brand new car with a brand new name. New Fabias (as presented above) and new (2013) Octavias is the "logical coninuation" of their ancestors. And yet the new Octavia in my opinion is a bit pushed closer to Superb's class since Rapid is very similar with MK1 Octavia due to the new modular platform which is just a bit longer than the MK1 Octavia.

But not the Roomster. This is something else, and has nothing in common with current Roomster. Current Roomster is a unique car with a distinctive character, it is the most ungly beautiful car of the group. It is the only car that makes the heads to turn. It is the most unique coctail of Fabia and Octavia.

I am not saying that the new Roomster as presented above is not a beautiful car. It is way more beuatiful than current one. But it is not a unique design. It is a clone of Touran.

And this has to do with MQB and MLB platforms, VW invented lately in order to keep production cost even lower. But I do not really think that this cost reduction will ever reach our pockets, since the prices will be (in my opinion always) at least the same as today. Ok to be fair maybe new cars will have one or two electronic gadgets than current ones, but not the serious ones.

I am fan of the exelixis. Exelixis keeps us walking forward and be innovative and makes our lives better (generally speaking). It's nice that Skoda keeps going forward and a Touran like car was missing from Skoda just like Rapid is placed between Fabia and Octavia. But I don't think that must replace the current small MPV.

Just called in to the stealers to look at an SE and no mention of the panoramic roof/ sunset etc being deleted from the spec list. All still listed in the supplied brochure and all still listed on the skoda website.

Revisited and when questioned they (DM Keith) managed to look on the system and said the pano roof was temporarily unavailable on the SE and SE+, no mention or knowledge of the other items falling from the spec though, or a drop in price. Don't know if they would still have gone ahead and ordered a motor without the roof as that was a major factor in the decision to upgrade the present Roomy.

Glad I read it here or I might have blindly ordered a new motor trusting the spec sheet and ended up with the hassle of trying to refuse the car on delivery.

Hello, newbie here.

Just thought I'd mention that I went into the dealer on 28th to look at an SE and was told that as of the 27th Dec the SE will no longer include panoramic sunroof, sunset glass, electric rear windows and parking sensors. They have reduced the price a bit, but by my (admittedly dodgy) calculations only by £430, boo hiss.

I'm not sure if that also applied to the SE plus (wasn't really interested in that at the time), but assuming they're doing that for the same reasons as in the OP it seems like a fair guess. Guess they're still short on parts, meh.

So... picked it up today,

That was a bit of a surprise! Caused a slight mexican standoff over the quoted price but they came good in the end so I'm a happy, if slightly surprised bunny.

Yeah I am a slightly miffed that the SE as appeared back on the configurator complete with Pano roof, after having the SE+ cancelled and not opting for the SE as it was meant to be the 'poverty' spec. Anyway the new octy *should be being built next week
