finished a little project

Featured Replies

Right I went to a small motor show in Frodsham in July this year. I loved looking at all the cars with their chromed engine bits and other brightly colored parts.

i then remembered that all I had was a plastic lump under my bonnet and couldn't open it without being laughed at so I decided that I wanted to jaz it up a bit and make it worth opening.

at the show there was a VW Karmann Ghia with a Hawaiian scene painted on the mounting of his engine, I thought this would be a good idea however painting it wouldn't be the best idea as it would crack when i flexed the plastic to remove it.

This left me with one alternative digital print vinyl. I saw some of my sisters "doodles" that she did on the PC and asked if she could do a couple for me.

a few weeks later i got an email with two images battery cover and engine cover. I opened them up and wow.

all I had to do was find some where that could make these for me, the first few places said no. when I managed to find some where that would do it they wanted £60 for each sticker. at this point I was nearly ready to give up. I tried another place that said the couldn't but to try a web site called Sign Quick( http://www.signquick.co.uk).

They were very helpful and were initially unsure how the vinyl would react with heat in the engine bay so they sent out some free samples for me to try.

They quoted me £19 per vinyl so it was on :).

A week later and the finished product arrived and was swiftly fitted.

Opinions?
