Way to much skodas.

Featured Replies

I was only saying to the wife the other day, how many vRS' there are knocking about Elgin. Not been challenged to a race tough!

Great value car in becoming popular shocker!

Well I for one am amazed.

Skoda have been good value since the 1960's, that's over 50 years of not being popular.

Skoda have been good value since the 1960's, that's over 50 years of not being popular.

But people are inevitably attracted by VAG build quality for considerably less money than the equivalent VW, Seat, Audi etc, especially in tough times like our current recession.

Which is exactly my point.

Good value alone isn't always enough to make something popular.

Cheaper pricing helps but it's the VAG parts bin that is attracting customers.

Skoda are doing very well. They are enjoying growth and the brand is becoming stronger but there will come a point where that growth matures. Until then we should expect to see them pushing prices up for as long as they can.

A Skoda Citygo is only £400 less than the equivalent VW Up!

But people can't be upset at the fact there are more vRS's around when we've got it so good from Skoda.

If people want to see less of their model of car they need to pay the substantial premium Audi etc command.

Maybe I've took it the wrong way.

That post looks buggered on tapatalk so apologies if it looks like garbage.

You've got it right, I think we are looking at it two different ways.

I see your point, the more people that learn about Skoda's link to the VW, Audi Group the more likely they are to consider them, especially when they weigh up what they are getting for their money.

Hence the increase in Skoda's on the roads, something a Skoda owner can't really complain about as it's likely the same reason they also own one!

At the same time things are changing, the Citygo example and the price certain models demand (Scout, Yeti etc.) would suggest to me that the asscociated value is less now than it was before people cottoned on to the great value Skoda brand.

The more popular Skoda becomes the less good value it will be.

Some people still living in the past though ,Gordon Ramsey was apparently describing two pieces of meat, one a Rolls Royce the other a Skoda ! Just shows some Dinosaurs still out there

there all different colours and years. and now i've just seen another black octy vrs estate in tescos lol.

As of friday there will be another one in elgin but it should be a bit different as its a blackline.

Just started noticing a lot more VRs down here in the Medway area, quite a lot of the metallic blue ones, and estates (I didn't realise that they made VRs estates). I was going down the A2 the other day (in my old Mondeo), and there was a black VRs behind me, so I pulled in after I had passed the car on the inside, and the VRs driver actually thanked me - very rare to get that from anyone nowadays.

I'm very polite. :hi:
