And then !!!! More power was needed. I spent a great deal of time researching the great stage 1 map debate. I decided on a Shark stage one map and spoke to Ben at shark HQ who informed me that their stage 1 map was intended for standard engines in good condition. Ohh I have one of those. Time to save some pennies. As I was about to bite the bullet a phone call from Ben at Shark came. He said that W8 performance based near to me were about to become Kents Shark specialist. A quick call to Rob at W8 secured a deal which made it even more attractive with my my Briskoda Freedom discount and also the new business promotion he was running. The only mod I carried out was the suggested fitment of a Forge 007p complete with yellow spring suitable for mapped cars. Also the top of the 007p was swapped for the side exit version so the vacuum pipe would not be crushed under the engine cover. Booked in with Rob at W8 I visited one evening and the ecu was read and sent off to Shark. I was expecting the need to return at a later date to have the map uploaded to the ecu. But after chatting to Rob for 15 mins an email had arrived back from Shark and the map was uploaded. Now that's service. The 20 min journey home turned into an hour and a half. It really was like a night and day transformation I could now see what all the fuss was about. An already swift family hatchback instantly turned into something much much better.

With all the extra power and more importantly torque the standard octy front seats now seemed to offer even less support so some mk4 golf cloth recaros were sourced. These are a straight swap and the job was completed in 20 mins also a centre arm rest was also sourced just because I like them. Many thanks to Rob at W8 for his excellent service a great bloke in all respects. Since our initial meet a fantastic friendship has been born. Cheers.

And then !!! My good friend Gee spent ages detailing my engine bay. He also made and fitted some braided steel fuel lines. A good job as at 10 years old the original lines were past their best. Also the Porsche oil and water filler caps were fitted. Thanks to Lloyd for organising the group buy for these.

And then !!! I spied an add on here asking if anyone wanted to swap some 17inch spiders for Golf anniversary BBS RC's. It turned out to be Lloyds cousin. A few Pm's later and a date was set to rendezvous at Lloyds to swap the wheels. So a quick blast to Bristol and my Octy was now wearing genuine BBS RC's. The spiders that I swapped were mint but the RC's were just ok. So you guessed it off to Lepsons they went for a refurb. While they were there some genuine BBS carbon centre caps and also spigot rings were sourced ready for their return. And here is how they turned out.
