hi all,not been on here for a while, busy with other projects, still got my pick-up and its been running fine over the last two years, passing both mot with no problems, ive been offered some volkswagen lupo alloy wheels but not to sure if they will fit, they are four stud....anyone done this swap ?

Should do, ask what the PCD is from the seller, just to be sure. Should be 100mm between the centres of the stud holes.

they are 100mm pcd  .i think they will fit but nice to have a second opinion....also they are 14" instead of 13`s....always thought 13`s look a bit small and this will also improve ground clearence.....ive bottomed out a few times when on rough ground .

Assuming you are on 165/70 x 13 now..

If the Lupo tyres are 185/55 x 14 isn't the overall wheel/tyre diameter marginally less? So no improvement in ground clearance I'm afraid.

185/60 would give you 16mm more diameter which is probably only about 8mm on ride height.

pcd is the diameter of a circle that runs through the centres of the stud holes

Did you get the disc pic?

If the pick ups a felicia veedub wheels have same pcd and centre bore. The only problem could be the offset. If its not correct think somewhere between 35 to 40 then the inner rim may catch on the track rod end at the front the rears will be fine. Some spacers and longers studs on the front will cure any offset problem but do get the correct hubcentric spacers. As for tyres, I did run 185/60 14 which were fine and you will get a few mills extra clearance. It does feel better to drive on 175/60 14s though. If its clearance at the front the shocks may be knackered. I've got a tractor engined felly hatch and it used to bottom out frequently at the front until I put on some new shocks.

So....thinking of getting some 14s to clear a proposed front brake upgrade as detailed on here.

Assuming its a 6J ET38 (Golf Mk2 Wheels) would 175/60s or 185/60s be best?

185/60/14, thats the standard tyre size for felicias with 14" wheels
