Another faulty actuator! :@

Featured Replies

As some of you will have seen i've had turbo troubles recently, so on my second re con turbo from turbo solutions and the first had a faulty actuator and it popped, :@ long story short, they investigated it, said it wasn't their fault so in a rush I bought another re con one. The car is still not rite, so i went to skoda full diagnostics everything fine, went back and they found the actuator was nackered. So I'm fed up now and I'm awaiting a date from DTD to trailer my car up and get a hybrid and a map :) which is what i should have done from the word go! Ordered myself an intercooler from tx autosport and a bigger intake pipe from seat. Cannot wait now to get it all done.

Going to get them to return the turbo that's on there to me and I'm taking it to tradin standards for them to inspect it, then send it back to turbo solutions and see what they say compared to trading standards. On a customer service basis.... What an useless company!! Would not recommend.

It seems that my turbo solutions turbo (received on friday) is doing the same, my oil seal went so i ordered a recon unit from them, fitted it and no boost until 2700rpm at which point it massively over-boosts, i rang them and they said adjust the actuator stop, which i did to no avail. I have since replaced the MAF, the N75 and all the vacuum hose's as well as removing and cleaning out the intercooler which leaves nothing but the actuator to be at fault. if it turns out to be a faulty/sticky actuator which i think it is then that will be taking the ****, i will keep you posted as im sure trading standards will be intrigued to know that your not alone ;-)

S@1t!! :@ feel sorry for you mate, this is ruining my life lol haven't had a car for over 6-7weeks now :( i've had to pay to do the job initially plus take off the second blown one to send back for investigation and fitting the new one and diagnostics, trailers to take the car to skoda, fuel. Takes the mick!! Cannot believe it :( please do keep me posted, pm me or something. I know a very good td officer who is eager to get to the bottom of this now especially after telling them about your problem too. :/ togeather we will get em lol

I will definately keep you updated, im doing the work myself luckily but im sick of lying under the bloody thing trying everything possible lol. Who diagnosed the faulty actuator? I looked at my old actuator and noticed it was springy, then i looked at my new one and that wasnt springy. Now just gotta take the whole f&@king lot off again and send it back!!!

I too feel your pain mate, just feel like slamming the door and walking away from it

Exactly the same as mine then man, the actuator isn't working which causes the turbo to run at full boost, but the ecu senses this and cuts the power. Doing my head in, i've nearly scrapped It once I got sooo peed off with it lol, skoda diagnosed it day before yesterday, i've got to get a statement from the garage, skoda, and my re map company. Furious tbh man, your lucky you can do it yourself.

It's the actuator which has caused the blown turbo the second time but the first was heavy driving, but when I sent tem both off to be inspected turbo solutions came back saying damage was identical and it wasn't their fault. Now that my symptoms and problems are the same as yours I'm slightly happier as I'm not alone now lol, if you file a complaint to trading standards I think it mite help?

Its going to a specialist tomorrow now so i will see what the rolling road has to say, i hope it is the actuator

I have the exact same issues with turbo fitted by awesome gti, and theyre not accepting any liability! Frustrating. Such a reputable company but no customer service. I've had mine hooked up to a vag com and it's over boosting which causes the turbo to kick in around 2700 revs. In 1st gear the turbo lags all the way unto 3500 k. I'll be changing the vacuum lines soon if not that then gna try another actuator. Keep us updated mate.
