Cruise control on Ebay

That plus i believe you need access to a VAG-COM to enable it on the ECU.

Its all you need if you have a TDi. If you've got a 1.8T then you'll need an additional loom to connect the loom in the kit to the control module.

Woaaahhhh Nelllyy!!! Too much work involved, will just have to train my right foot to stop pushing down so hard on the accelerator pedal

Don't be put off - it's not all bad news. Cruise is great when you get it too.

PM BigK and see if he is back on doing cruise retrofit

I'd like cruise fitting too...wonder if he would be up for a group buy :orb_lol:

If any of you decide to fit it yourself I have VAG-COM in the Hampshire area.

Also, Skoda dealers wont be able to find the parts (tried 3 with no success - all said the switch diddnt exist) So order them from VW.

You can get the switch from Skoda - I did.

Are there any non-dealership companies that people would recommend who will supply & fit the whole lot for you?

Nice Guy Mike

Do a search mike. Someone on here used a place up north that worked out at a good price. Is it Fabia or Octy?

If anyone in the North East wants Cruise fitting to an Octavia vRS (I wouldn't want to do a Fabia, I've seen what people go through) and gets the bits (I also would strongly recommend the two button on the end stalk, not the slidey switchy one) I will be happy to do it/help do it for beer tokens. It's fiddly but not that difficult, took me about four hours when I did mine but now I know the procedure I reckon it's about a two to three hour and four cuppa job. I also have VAG-COM when I get my laptop back!

First thing I did when I bought my vRS and it's saved my license on more than one occasion!

I'm also willing to help out down south. Done two 2005 Fabia's already and for those of you who saw the pictures of the first one don't worry it can be done quite easily without taking the dashboard out - Now I know what i'm doing!!

Without trying to do Big K out of business (as I am in the south of the country!!!). Would you be interested in the complete job to a 2003 Octavia TDI (Supply and fit new stalk, and associated programming)?

If so, have much?

I don't want to do it for money but I'd happily help you out. I have the tools and VAG-COM. Where are you - I'm in Hampshire.

Stu.

That part number is different to the one I was given over on UKMKIV's - That started with 1J0. I assume thats where the confusion lies.

Yeah 1JO is the VW number. Same stalk though.

Handy to know as VW seem to have a better parts network, usually next day whereas Skoda quote 2.

I also tried German Sweedish Parts mail order. They located the part numer as a switch but sadly, couldnt get hold of it :(

I got my first one from Skoda - 3 days and the second from VW - next day.

As you have to go to VW to get the loom may as well get the switch from them too.

Have you fitted yours yet?

Here are the two different column stalks for cruise conrol. IMHO, the 2x button one is easier to use (the one I have fitted).

I had the 1x button one previously fitted to a Seat Toledo - this was fiddly to use the accelerate feature, where you have to slide the spring tentioned switch to the right.

Its the left stalk that Skoda said diddnt exist - VW found it though

I ordered Superteds SWMBO's one from a VW dealer using the 1J0 number and got the one pictured on the right.

I think thats the better one personally and perhaps that one has now superseeded the one in the left picture
