Doubt one in link would fit without major effort.

arse biscuits, thought not.

any ideas on the MK4 set up though?

cheers

If its moulded shape rather than square din shape then nope ain't going to fit

Looks like different connectors too? (And it'll be blue/red lighting.)

Also looks like screws hold it in, rather than a cage type setup, so that would need work too.

MK4 set up is two seperate units, one for the CD controls and one is a tape deck, not fussed that the colours are different, i quite like the Blue and Red as opposed to the green in the Fabia. should fit if i can get the cage with it for the golf, but not sure if the connectors would need work?!?

The mark 4 one will physically fit I reckon, it's just a single DIN unit (wiring I don't know). I've got one in the Polo (standard VW Gamma radio) and had one in my Golf too. It's not worth the effort to change - they sound terrible! The standard speakers with an after market HU sound pretty decent considering, but when driving by VW's offering, they're not.

That one listed on eBay definitely won't fit.

Mk4 cd players will fit, but they're not modern by any standards, and will only offer the same functions as the Symphony.

I'd suggest getting a decent aftermarket one that will do the lot.

just the standard set up in the car is doing it no justice. maybe i should look to upgrade the speakers and get a nice subtle sub and amp pack instead :)
