Re-map in the south west?

Featured Replies

Where is the best place to get a remap in and around somerset?

I have a Mk1 Octavia VRS and I don't mind driving a bit but so far I see Awesome is in Manchester and some of the other companies mentioned are in Essex and Nottingham... A little bit too far, but would definately get to have some fun on the way back.

Volkscraft in Exeter, Marsh Barton, are a Revo dealer. :)

Nice drive back :-)

I've used Mark @ Swict tuning(southwest incar tech) in Bristol a few times

Or you have Bill @ Badger 5 who did my Stage 2 Revo on my Tsi

I leaning more toward cn or volkscraft. Is there much diference between the Revo map and a Shark one?

Took my 2010 VRS TDI 170 CR to Celtic Tuning near Newquay today and they gave it 227.2 hp with just a remap.

Took 1.5 and was VERY reasonably priced, I'm talking half the price of anyone else in my area.

Its a very smooth and progressive power delivery and doesn't feel any different than the original map when your driving sensibly, but give it a boot full and it picks up much quicker than it used to.

I don't post on here much (if at all) but I think that if you get poor service you should tell the person that provided it, but if you get good service you should tell everyone :-)

Celtic Tuning are doing a December special and offering stage 1 on Octy VRS for £200 (normally £275)

email them and ask to be put on their list

I have booked my place already

Do not touch celtic tuning with a barge pole

Several stage 1 users have had big problems with their maps

They claimed they could do custom stage 3 mapping for my car ...

In the end had to turn up with car trailer and demand they return my car and refund me

I can vouch for Volkscraft, I know Matt who owns it and he knows his stuff on all things VAG related, he re-mapped my brothers 1.8t Golf and the results were very good.

I would _love_ to see that. Do you have a dyno plot?

I do but I'm positive the "know it all's" or maybe even those that are trying to push thier own products or services will find a way of calling it lies.

Was just sharing some info, simple as that but seems like this forum has as many keyboard warriors and doom and gloomers than many motorcycle forums I've been involved with over the years which is why I don't come on her and post much.

People only get reminded of the things they do wrong in this life so giving someone a pat on the back for doing something good should be applauded rather than doom and gloom.

I won't be bothering to post on here in the future.

I posted in another thread regarding Celtic earlier, from experience, their claim's should be taken with a large pinch of salt! ;-) My previous map from them got me 19 lb/ft torque and 20lb/ft torque LESS on two known accurate dynos than what they claimed it got.

That's a strange and defensive reply! At the end of the day, there's only so much power that can be safely gained from that engine and it's components. That's above what most tuners would achieve, hence the interest. ;-) It's a public forum. If you post on it then you should expect opinions. Those figures are very optimistic IMO and I'd rather deal in real figures than marketing hypercrap. I could take my mota along to a different dyno and achieve 335bhp but I certainly wouldn't believe it and therefore wouldnt 'sell' it as such. :-)

I'm sorry if I upset you, I just said I'd like to see it. I am one of "those know it all's" who is in the privileged position to have an accurate dyno and a lot of experience tuning CR170s. So I'd like to see it, but unfortunately today's not my day.

And you believed them?

Wow!

And you believed them?

Wow!

Only cost him the cow he was taking to market
