Brake pads, how long do yours last?

Featured Replies

I put new pads on the front of my diesel truck 2 and a bit years ago (summer 2010) They were Pagid ones and cost about 18 odd quid. I do about 15k miles a year mostly down country lanes a and I have an enthusiastic, but not daredevil driving style. I had a grinding sound coming from the front drivers side, thinking I had a stone stuck I stripped the brakes down to find all the friction material had come off one pad (outside) and the inside was about 3mm left. The near side pads were also both down to 3mm or so. Am I expecting too much from brake pads or does this seem like quite a fast wear rate? I had a big Hyundai H100 van for 3 1/2 years which didnt needs new pads in this time, this van weighed probably twice what my Felly truck weighs. Anyway, put new Pagid pads on, only £19, but what are other peoples experience with pads? Which are best? I'm ot overly impressed with Pagid.

Hi ya, I tend to average around 30k on pads (Felly pick up). Make wise no particular preference & tend to go for mid range price. Think I'm around 26k on my current set.
