What's worth replacing while I fit coilovers?

Featured Replies

As I expect to be fitting some coilovers fairly soon I wondered what else I should do at the same time? As I'll get the tracking/geo setup done after it seems a good time to fit other parts. Will be putting on new top mounts and top mount bearings anyway but wondered if things like ball joints are worth doing? Arb bushes?Anything else?

Car has 92k miles on it. Have already fitted powerflex console bushes and an updated dogbone bush. Should be Eibach pro street s coilovers so I'm not sure whether they require shortened drop links...

To be honest i did exactly what youre saying youre going to change. I changed top mounts and bearings and obviously shortened drop links as i needed them with joms.

Erm you could do arb bushes just for peice of mind but i didnt but mine are fine!

I did top mounts, top mount bearings. Shorter bump stops (ibiza cupra ones) and shorter drop links.

I didn't change the rear top mounts though as they are quite expensive and easy enough to change if they need to be in the future.

I havent got bump stops on my rear JOM coilovers is it a big problem as long as i dont bottom it out?

Its no where near on the lowest setting.

Hadn't actually thought about the bump stops... my rears are actually pretty beat. Any suggestions of the best ones to get for lowered suspension? Was thinking about the ARB bushes but wasn't sure which size I'd need? Seems to be quite a few sizes. Would like to get the meyle drop links but not sure if I'll need short ones.
