Quick question: Connecting up starter motor?

Featured Replies

Hi guys. I'm posting this under my brother's username as I know his password. He trapped my car on the drive with his car, got half way to replacing the clutch, then moved to the other side of the country.

I could do with moving it asap and I've got most of it back together, but I can't figure out how to wire up the starter motor. There's the two cables, and the two points that the cables can connect to, so can anybody tell me which way round they go? Cable A comes straight from the positive on the battery, the other one disappears into the loom.

Any help would be very much appreciated, my car is overdue it's MOT.

A and B both go onto 2, I would think. B is the feed from the alternator. Connecting either to 1 would mean the starter would run (A) permanently (B ) as soon as the alternator had output.

Thats ace thanks. Tbh I suspected as much, connection 1 didn't look as if it had been touched.
