MOT today

Featured Replies

Well after 187k miles she flew throughout the MOT today without and advisories. To be honest I was not expecting that but will gladly accept it!

Generally speaking, if you look after your car it should look after you - and that includes at MOT time - unless that is, you use greedy garages for the MOT! I always have used main dealers, in my case VW and they do used to dish out "tyres part worn" and "brakes part worn" maybe to keep the MOT watchers happy, but that seems to have stopped, this year I got an advisory for a slightly worn track rod inner bearing which surprised me as wife's car has a light (1.4 16v petrol) engine and tends to get used on longer daily journeys, so not a typical 2 miles a day into a tight parking space.

Time to change to winter tyres though, as there are small bits of snow in the wind.
