VW CADDY WHEEL TRIMS

They should do, although they will not click into place like they do over the other four nuts.

I fitted mine last week - they needed a bit of persuasion to fit on some of the nuts. They do not feel that sturdy - I wonder if they will crack when I try to prise them off next Spring.

As Pete says the cover does go over the locking nut but does not grip it. The other four nuts hold the cover on.

The little hook which comes with the jack etc - I think it is used to remove wheel trims - can be hooked behind the cap edge where it covers any of the nuts and with a quick pull removes the cover. Have now done it half a dozen times. It is now quite a relaxed process.

Just seen above link. If you are near a vw commercial vehicle dealer they can be bought over the counter.

Hi, just fitted winter steel wheels with Nokian WR D3 215/60 R16 99 H XL tyres. Can anyone tell me if the caddy centre caps fit over the locking wheel nut.

Bob

Same tyres I got last winter, also fitted caddy caps, but fitted Skoda emblems as per Johanns post No. 31....

Facebook changes its photo addresses so none of the pics work in the post but you can see them here:

I've fitted the Caddy hub caps this time. Fed up with losing the T5 ones  even though they look better IMHO.

Waiting for some new style Skoda emblems to arrive to put on.

I bought mine from Bickerton Skoda. When I looked on eBay they were going for more than they cost new! They cost just over £36 delivered.

There seems to be a "crossover" between this topic and the "Winter Tyres" topic. Opinion appears divided between

1) No winter tyres 2) Winter tyres on steel rims and 3) winter tyres on alloys (either spare ones or original).

From my perspective, I think wheels are the most important visual feature of any car. Why anyone would want to spoil the aesthetics of their vehicle with steel rims is beyond me. I can see the importance of winter tyres for some people, but why not buy a cheap set of alloys instead of steel rims - at least then your car looks decent all year. If looks are not important, then why has there been so much chatter on this forum about the virtues of what is the best looking alloys for the Yeti. No doubt this debate will continue to run and run!

Which do you think looks better?......and only £44 difference (plus you will also want some wheel trims for the steel rims so maybe no price difference!)

I suppose that is the difference in owners...............to me a wheel is something to put a tyre on and hold the car off the tarmac.

Whether it is steel or alloy during the winter doesn't make any difference to me, plus an alloy is more laible to salt damage and a steel wheel is often more resiliant to a knock or two. If I was fitting steels I spray them silver anyway.

Still looks like a 20k car even with the steel wheels.

Bob

I wish it was that cheap

Spec one up now and it will cost best part of £29,000.........

£20k? Bottom of the range 4x4 with a decent spec.

You can barely tell the different between my DSG CR140 and a 1.2tsi DSG. To me that is a good thing.

And I prefer the anonymity of steel wheels. Doesn't draw attention to it like a cheap set of alloys would, which in my line of work is a boon.

I also quite like the 'steelie' look. As always it is a personal thing.

I don't buy cars to make me look good, or ones because I think they look good.

I bought the Yeti because I wanted a 4x4 diesel automatic, and the Yeti was the only car in the range at the time that fulfilled the criteria. Being one of he best made value for money cars available at the time.

It doesn't matter what it looks like. As it happens, I like its quirky looks.
