My new Nikon D3200 (a noob review)

Featured Replies

Having had compacts and bridge camera's I promised myself a dslr having enjoyed an old practica slr back in the day!

Watched loads go by on ebay and the likes, but with a great discount found on uk hot deals I snagged the new (ish) d3200

At 24 Megapixel the pictures look awesome even when my card is put into a 42" tv but its the "guide mode" and semi manual modes I have enjoyed the most, essentially in guide mode there are 2 settings "normal shots" portrait, landscapes moving targets both human and mechanised, flash off etc where it tells you how to set camera or it will do it for you

secondly there are "advanced" settings such as soften backgrounds and foregrounds, allow movement and low light settings etc.

Took it on holiday and even with the stock lens it was brilliant, the second set of settings are priorities for either aperture, shutter speed ISO etc

I have just moved onto these semi auto modes, however the guide mode walked me through so many shots I would have otherwise just slapped it into Auto

Below pics are in their original state, please bear in mind I took 440 and have only been through a few

I would appreciate any critique you could offer as I took it that seriously I forgot to take any of my mrs or daughter :whew:

First of all, great purchase

Secondly, I love the first image for the framing, the exact moment you've managed to capture and the contrast in lighting between the stormy background and the seemingly sunny foreground. Really nice.

im shocked at the position of the fly line, if im honest i fired about 15 shots but the near right angles of the line caught me totally off guard ...chuffed !!
