Warning TFSI oil picK up pipe blockage

Featured Replies

Just drop the sump on a TFSI due to oil light . Oil pick up was blocked !! The design of the oil pick up is very similar almost identical to the classic 1.8T . With all the problems with the 1.8T expect the same if not worse the inlet diameter seems smallar then the 1.8T . Clean it !!! will try take some pics

Service history unknown

56 plate with 53k

Here we go again expect problems

Possibly due to PCV failure, also common on the 2.0 TFSI. As crank case vapour mixes with the oil it turns sludgy. If you havn't already change the PCV.

Is this the same for my car as a vrs then?

If you have a TFSI and you have not had the revised PCV Valve fitted then yes.

Am i correct in thinking this is the part no required for early 2007/07 cars - 06F 129 101 N?

I believe there is also a P revision, the best thing to do is give the dealer/tps your part number and they'll supply the latest revision for your car.

I'm always confused by this, but I thiiiiink I have a tsi!

It should say in your v05, or work it out by year, tsi are the newer engines, don't quote me but I think 2008 onwards, I'm a TDi guy.

The face lift is a TSI as said 09 onwards

Yeah, it's just I got tsi and tfsi written on two different documents when I bought the car from new, that's all.

Check the Engine cover the TSi has a smaller one without the airbox piping connected and clearly says TSi on it. The TFSi is bigger and has some of the airbox pipework built into it.
