Did that earlier after some more reading, it is black as black can be! I did notice that even with the engine being rev'd there is no water coming in via the hose at the top of the water bottle, would that be indicative of a faulty pump? Does anyone know any good garages round Southampton to do that work as it sounds like a major job. Have phoned Peter Cooper and Sparshatts already, and they want a pretty hefty amount just for diagnosis.

If your sure there isn't an air lock, then yes it sounds like the water pump has failed.

You should be getting water on the return line when the car is upto temp.

If it is the pump might aswell do the cam belt at the same time.

Booked in for cam belt and water pump change on Monday, hopefully that is the problem, but that isn't a job I fancy doing myself!

If there is no flow to the header tank you have a goosed water pump, & probably a huge air lock as a result of all the fluid loss & no flow.

No Flow into the Heater matrix is another good sign.....

Im boiling out the air lock for this one and wouldsay pump.

See what i did there
