Forgot to add, changed my armrest and fitted this one using the original bracket and an adaptor i bought from seanw on here. Feels so much better and doesn't creak like the old one:

I also shortened the gear stick down so i could fit the Octavia vRS Mk3 gear stick i bought last year but the gaiter is too small to attach to the original base and my original gaiter is nearly 12 years old and in need of replacing now. I'll hopefully either get a new original gaiter to stick on the Mk3 gear stick or i'll try to get a new one made up from somewhere.

Looks like a great trip John

Thinking of fitting an armrest to my fabia, does it get in way at all especially when using the handbrake?

Did you just buy that one off of eBay?

Cheers :)

I've never had an issue with it, you just kind of adapt to it being there. If it is a problem, you can always fold it up and only use it for motorway driving.

I bought this one last year, just hadn't got round to fitting it.

Same with mine, you just get used to it.

Same design as the mk2, so not like its the end of the world since Skoda passed it for factory fitting.

@vrs19td...how is your arm rest fitted? Ones i'm looking at on fleaby seem to sit in the space(s) behind the handbrake:-

The Mk1's tend to need the cup holder cutting out and then are either attached to the centre console using self-tappers or bolted to the floor.

Naths, yours a mk2 or mk1?

MK2 mate.

MK2 mate.

Have a look at my project thread i just started last night, it's got pictures of the interior stripped out but with the arm rest fitted.

I prefer the look over the original, i just need to cut the rod down a little more and try to sort out the top of the gaitor a bit. I'd love to fit the Mk3 Octavia vRS steering wheel as well. B)
