How do I remove the chrome surround to spray it?

Carefully !!! First remove complete grill from bonnet a few torx head bolts. Then the chrome portion can be removed using a flat blade driver to gently lever tabs thus releasing the chrome surround. Working around little by little so as not to brake anything.

Tried removing mine earlier and couldn't get the bonnot release handle to slide out of the grill easily. I'll attempt it again another time.

Its easy to do that. Couple of screws and its loose then loosen the release handle too, or it slides out. It makes sense once you are doing it, no force needed.

Not sure how to actually dismantle the silver bit from the rest of the grille once loose, I just masked mine for plastidip once off the car which was fine

I couldn't get the release handle to slide out on mine and didn't want to force it too much.

dont pull the release handle out undo the 8mm nut just behind the grill and the handle stays with the grill. as its just a pivot bolt it will not need any re alignment etc ... just slot straight back on ........ be very carefull with the four little clips behind where the badge is too i have broken these off on both occasions which is extremely annoying ...

A slight twist anti clockwise as you pull on it will remove the arm.

There's room in the hole to twist it once it's half way out.

I took the grille on the OPs car off at least 3 or 4 times while I owned it.
