Vrs Tyres? - which ones?

Featured Replies

Did you reset the indicator before you set off?

I didn't know that it needed to be ?

Just looking how to do it now !!

Iggy on then press & hold in the button until a beep is heard,i had new tyres fitted & re set the indicator & 2 days later it went off whilst driving, pulled over & checked tyres & all was ok so reset indicator again & it hasnt come on again in the last 8k.

Going straight from PS3's to F1's - there wasn't much in it noise wise or MPG wise, BUT I did notice an improvement in grip, particularly from a standing start in damp conditions. Softer compound me thinks. Didn't keep the car long enough to see mileage but I'm betting it's not as long as the PS3's.

If you want a decent tyre that lasts a while then PS3's. If you want a touch more grip, "slightly" cheaper and are prepared for slightly faster wear then F1's. IMO anyway.... :)

Toyo T1 Sports. Got 4 on my car and it grips excellent in all weathers.

Tyre Indicator reset this morning, covered 190'ish miles and all is well.

The new PS3s are much quieter with more grip than he old worn Conti2s, money well spent IMHO.

Had been considering the PS3 but the Goodyear offering is becoming more and more attractive.

I'm using Goodyear Assymetric 2's. Have done 21k on them. I need to replace the front ones but the rears have plenty of tread left. Local company in Northern Ireland (Magowan Tyres) are quoting £121 a corner, unlike Quickfit at £134 and thats with their alleged 25% off winter offer!

Hi All

I have been using Falken 452's all round on my Astravan for the last couple of years. They have been really good. Good grip and quiet.

We have 2 on the back of the VRS and had no problems - fronts are nearly worn (dealer fitted Avons) so will be getting 452's for the front.

Cheers

Dave

I have got vredestein ultrac sessantas all round on mine got the rears from black circles and the fronts from my tyres.co.uk paid 115 per corner fitted. Amazing in the wet giving you a lot of confidence also good in the dry if a touch noisy. Definitely better than the kumho ecsta sports I had on the front when I bought the car which span under the lightest of throttle inputs in the wet.

I know other threads have mentioned auto express tyre reviews which I have used in the past but they always seem to choose ultrac centos which are more of an Eco tyre, you could also check out the evo tyre tests where driver feel is considered alongside the purely scientific approach of auto express.

My tyres also list tyre reviews on their website next to the tyres

I run these all round on my current A4 and did on my Astra VXR (Stage 2 tuned - 300bhp) and they are amazing. Better in wet than alot of tyres are in the dry. Sometimes hard to get hold of though. Camskill often have them.

Just changed to Vortis and they feel like a vast improvement over the conti sc2. I had Sessantas before too so will be comparing wet experience against these as my benchmark.
