I have a 2004 Fabia with some annoying electrical problems, the cigarette lighter/power socket will not work, the boot will only open when a door is open and the warning that the lights are still on when you take the keys out will not work. Is there anything I can do to try to fix this or is it a job for a qualified mechanic ? (I have checked the fuses !)

Depends on your own technical experience and basic tools like a multimeter, have you got one?

At least is sounds like they aren't serious though so you can cope with them for the meanwhile.

Shouldn't be smoking while driving anyway bad habit you could probably do best without  Forgetting the smoking assistance for a moment (which is unimportant), are you getting 12v to the socket as of course it is handy for accessories at least

No, nothing at the socket.

Might be daft question but have you checked fuse for cig lighter it blows quite easy i done mine few times plugging phone in.

Yes, checked fuses.

Right only thing i can suggest about cig lighter is im sure somewhere on here i read that the wire easily broke. Wen you say boot wont open unless door is open is this after you have been for a drive or all time?

Have you owned the car a while or is it recenly bought? Because the warning when lights are one can be switched off using vcds.

someone told me (i think?) the boot doesnt open if the boot light bulb is blown, have a look ?

Boot will not open anytime unless other door open.

Had car for about 5 years and only recently started to have problem.

Boot light bulb ok.
