Anything I should look out for new VRS tomorrow !

Featured Replies

I am hoping that my car is not one of them but will be giving it a full close inspection when i get to the dealers Tomorrow.

I'm sure you'll be fine. I imagine most of them are scratches and dings, and I have no idea what the percentage is that come through damaged. I was just pointing out how important it is to check. Not always possible of course - for example one car I'd bought brand new got a puncture whilst on the original tyres and I was annoyed to find that it couldn't be repaired due to another repair already having been made nearby. Obviously it had picked up a problem in the six delivery miles it had covered when I picked it up!

Dealer did meet half the cost of the new one though......

I am pretty sure things will be ok as I did track the car over with skoda UK and it landed in the UK last Tuesday delivered to the dealer on the Wednesday and I could of had the car on Friday, so not really a lot of time to get anything major fixed I would have thought and you always get the usual coach work smell anytime I have been in a car after it has just been repaired.

I will update you all later and let you know how things have went and post some pics as well.

See you all soon.

Don't forget to take your camera!

Tell them to wait for 15 minutes while you take a drive around the block. Check that the steering wheel is straight and that there's no untoward pulling to one side.

Check fluid levels (oil, water, washer) and get them to top up as necessary.

Check the tyres, mine had a gash out of the wall where it had been removed of the low loader. The dealer replaced the tyre no problems, if you miss it they could claim that you did it.

my pet hate is wonky no plates, especially on new cars... see so many expensive cars with it.....

On the subject of rear number plates, makesure they use the pre-drilled holes rather than sef tappers stright through the bodywork like they did on mine!

Oh my god. Did you go back to them with that?!?

Yeah, Skoda UK paid for the repair.

Who in their right mind would do this to a brand new car!?

Morale of the story - don't trust dealers as far as you can throw them.

I have checked the tyres and the alloys and they are all perfect no damage.

You had me worried there for a minute, so I doubled checked my rear number plate and they have used the pre - drilled holes.

The number plates look fine to me.

My plates were stuck on with sticky pads then I used plate holders.

I arrived at the dealer this afternoon and spent quite a while checking all the bodywork and I can report that I could find no damage or over spray on anything and the interior was perfect, all engine levels were spot on and the pre delivery stamp was in the book.

The wheels and tyres were fine and all locking nuts in place and the dealer showed me around all the controls on the car as well.

I have driven 250 miles today and the car did not miss a beat, no knocking noises or rattles to report from the dash or anywhere and no wind or buzzing noise either at between 70 and 80 mph that some people are suffering with.

So to some up my day, the car is just great but need a wash,:happy:

Ps Will post some pics tomorrow.
