Can't wait to have my car back, hybrid baby ;)

Featured Replies

After what seems to be a life time (8 weeks) I am hopefully having my car back this week, with a cheeky hybrid lurking beneath the bonnet, a slightly bigger Fmic, bigger air intake, and a custom map :) cannot wait (like a child at Christmas) so I just thought I'd share my excitement. Sorry lol

What hybrid set up did you go for? When do you get it back! Bet ya cant wait ;)

I'm not sure, as far as I know it's a pd150 turbo that's been sent off for hybrid, and I bought a Fmic off tx autosport for £225 with forum discount ;) and pd160 intake, also a custom map, launch control and rev limiter :) I'm not very mechanically minded so that's the best I can describe it lol, going for 200bhp as I'm running standard clutch and flywheel :/ but he said it will be capable of 220-230 with an appropriate clutch and flywheel

He did say you were getting some work done :) I'm like a child at Christmas :D only downside is having to drive it today for a while after getting it back to wear the turbo in :(

I can't wait mate, been driving the misses's Leon fr 170 in the meantime but its just nowhere near as fun as my car (I can't really have fun in it because it handles like a bus lol) so once my car is back in my hands an worn in it shall be seeing some lovely mountains roads and a few naughty bends ;)

Just wait for the turbo noise. Quite addictive. You'll surprise a lot of bigger cars around too.

Enjoy

what have you done to your Fabia in terms of handling??

what have you done to your Fabia in terms of handling??

Coilovers, sitting about a cm above the tyre, rarb, front strut brace,

J.E

No offence to anybody but everybody is saying it costs a fortune to hybrid a fabia n get 200bhp etc i no u have 2 take the labour into acount (as i am a vw trained mechanic so no labour charge for me :) ) but i have done it all myself i no alot off people arnt mechanicaly minded and cant do it your self but i havnt evan spent mre than 2k getin it upto 200+ and i have all new parts brakes clutch suspention turbo etc if anybody was closer to me id happily fit all your parts for beer :) or bit fuel money

Depends doesn't it, you can get dirt cheap coilovers, cheap brakes, eBay intercooler, back street £50 map etc etc. but will it last and go as well as one that has decent coilovers, proper map etc? Doubt it tbh. If you just want it making 200bhp and don't plan to keep it long then yeah, do it cheap but planing to keep a car long term I rather spend a bit and do it well.

Just my 2p worth of course!

I see it as hybrid pd150 £1000ish, intercooler £500 ish or go DIY. Remap ill do myself.

Suspension and brakes can be left alone.

I spent £650 on a hybrid n have a ths intercooler and all the relavent stainles pipe work etc its all done properly with the rite bits

So that's a grand. Nice and cheap :)

Mine is just over a grand so far for hybrid, cooler and turbo back exhaust wich you dont really need. Clutch will bump me up to 2 grand mark though.

How much was the hybrid? As the exhaust is around £400 mark IIRC - I'm thinking f going for the same as you!
