autogrip...........(SHUDDER)dude, thats a bad idea, the vrs needs good tyresautogrips are ditch finders

How much coolant is in there too?

Autogrip?

Oh my days. My Octi had Autogrip all round when I bought it. Was scary in the dry and deadly in the wet. Good luck matey.

I can't believe someone who clearly likes/knows/builds fast cars would put autogrips on their car, sheer madness. On a normal car they are terrible...on a vrs, that relies on decent tyres, its absolute crazy...the tyres on these cars make all the difference.

Basically running them on a shoestring.

A good giveaway on buying a car is exactly this. The tyres will often show how much, or how little has been spent on a car IMO.

Exactly. I have not and will not ever buy a car with poo tyres on.

Well,

not to drive or keep, anyways. ;)

Upavon as in Wiltshire near Ludgershall?

A Local boy, yet never seen any of these cars about. what are the rest of your plans?

Can't say I ever ran decent tyres on my vrs in the 4 years I had it and it never met a ditch or struggled in any weather conditions!

spot on...i agree!

That really suprises me si...If you can't tell the difference between good tyres on a vrs and cak tyres...you ain't the enthusiast i thought you were!;> Its like night or day, when i bought mine, it was on chinese cak, stock car other than a map and filter, and it couldn't put the power down, and wheel hopped everywhere, in a 200bhp car, it was dangerous frankly, just putting toyos on made all the difference!

Can't have proper fun in crappy boots...

Erm not so.

I have nearly always run on these so called ditchfinders and never ever had a prob.

I run my fabia vrs on the cheapest i can get within reason as its just a daily works runner so dont care.

My octy has had the contis it came with new then marangoni, kumoh 712, mayrun mr800 falken 452(worst out of all) toyo t1r (loved them) michelin sp2

Nothing wrong with ditchfinders so long as you look after them and dont drive silly which on public roads you shouldnt anyway.

No tyre is dangerouse its just the dumb assed driver not driving to the conditions.

Edit

Yes there is a difference and i can tell for sure but for an everyday car even the vrs budgets are fine so long as your not driving like a loon.

They are more fun with good tyres tho. Toyo t1r are best for grip. Never had trouble pulling off or cornering my octy vrs with any tyre on. Mind i dont drive her, just cruise lol

It's all a load of crap! I drive my cars like I've stole them (most of the time) and I've never had issues!

The vrs made it in the snow where others didn't and never once gave me the impression it was going to leave the road when driven hard.

The BM had goodyears on and look what happened to that lol. This was 20-30mph aswell!

If it were a dedicated track car then I can see the point in good tyres.
