octavia 4x4 abs light on

Featured Replies

Wondering on these cars is there common problems like wheel speed sensors going down or could the abs light possibly be related to a fault on the 4x4 system? If that makes sense

Thanks Chris

You need to get the car scanned for faults.

Its one I may go and look at if another falls through. I have a code reader so no probs there just wondering if the system faults are linked. Just its quite far away so would be a wasted journey to.scan and find a 4x4 fault

They could be related, but there's no point in guessing.

I've skip the car in question tbh, find another to look at

I'd be asking myself "If it was an easy/cheap fix, why hasn't the current owner fix it ?"

Problem is on a bit of a budget. I'm a tech so in theory only have to lay out for parts.

Do know what you mean about why hasnt he done it but some people just cant be bothered. Have a good scanner to read ecu and abs

You can feed the fault codes into the ross-tech wiki site

wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/

If you can use the site whilst looking at car might tell you what you need know

NSF cable to sensor broken mine did if last week not uncommon

Sometimes the wires sometimes the abs sensors die. I have changed one on mine and there is another user in here at the moment doing one. (Big hammer and chisel job :D). If the seller doesn't have any skills they would have to put it in to be done and not every one can afford it. Talk to them and ask why it's not been done. You may be able to knock them down a bit/lot

Thanks for the input guys. Feeling slightly more confident now. If one I am waiting on falls through will give this a look for the cost of some fuel.

You could be lucky and it could just be a 30 amp fuse on top of the battery. I've seen one show an ABS power supply fault which has been down to a dirty (not blown) fuse.
