1.3 pick up truck

Featured Replies

Good evening, I am sitting here looking through everything and just had to join and ask a few questions. I really want a 1.3 skoda pick up.

What is a good price?

What MPG do you get?

Also any commons faults or problems?

How can I get a cover for the rear as these seem to be like rocking horse ****?

Also do they do covers or cages for rear windows?

Lastly it bugs me you don't get a centre console for all your bits are these easy to buy?

Thank you, and I suppose I better introduce myself I am alex from felixstowe, I am a fire fighter. My wife has been doing my head in about getting a small engine and cheap taxable car, I really wanted a pick up as I do the odd gardening job, these seem to tick all our boxes, so I hope you can answer all my questions.

Hello Alex and welcome along

You're looking for info on a Fun, try the classics forum although I'm sure someone will be along soon that can answer some if not all of your questions

Hi & welcome to the site. You'll find a reasonable choice of pick ups & if you go down that route engine options will vary between 1.3/1.6 petrol & 1.9d etc. I've owned the 1.3 & 1.6 options & to be honest I prefer the 1.6, giving a bit more performance and with very little difference in mpg. Driven carefully 40 - 45 mpg is achievable with excellent reliability if you can source one that's been looked after with regular servicing. Your biggest enemy will be rust and the pick ups often suffer in good measure (arches, strut turrets, wings, sills etc). Be careful when checking this side out as quite a few are quickly repaired & blown over, potentially presenting you with a headache 6 to 12 months down the line. Mine has always been open backed but again there are hard top / truckman options (check out ebay & Brisky when appropriate, but they don't always come that cheap).

There's lots of info embedded in the Classic section & lots of guys on here with a great depth of knowledge. If you get a good one you won't regret it!

Cheers,

Rob
